Understanding the velocity equation

- Make sure the time unit matches the acceleration unit, because \(a\) and \(t\) must work together correctly.
- A negative acceleration means the velocity decreases, so the final velocity can be smaller than the initial velocity.

What is the difference between speed and velocity?+
Speed is just how fast something moves, while velocity includes direction too. A car going 30 in a circle has constant speed but changing velocity, because its direction keeps changing.
When can I use v = v₀ + at?+
Whenever acceleration is constant. If the acceleration changes during the motion, this simple equation no longer applies and you need calculus-based methods instead.
What if acceleration is zero?+
