How to use this tool

1. Enter the date and time you want to convert.
2. Choose the source IANA timezone the time currently belongs to.
3. Choose the target IANA timezone you want to convert to.

Step by step, what happens

1. The tool takes your datetime input and treats it as local time in the source timezone you selected.
2. It looks up the timezone rules for both IANA zones, including daylight saving time when applicable.
3. It converts the same instant into the target timezone and shows the matching local wall time there.
4. If the selected time falls into a skipped or repeated DST hour, the browser or page may need you to adjust the input to a valid local time.

Worked example

For example, you might want to see what 9:00 AM in New York is in London.

Input: 2026-03-15 09:00 America/New_York -> Europe/London

1. The tool reads 2026-03-15 09:00 as a New York local time.
2. It converts that moment into the Europe/London timezone.
3. It displays the corresponding London local time.

Tips and common mistakes

• Use full IANA timezone names such as America/New_York, Europe/London, or Asia/Tokyo, not short abbreviations like EST or PST.
• Make sure you know whether the datetime you enter is already in the source timezone, because the tool converts from that exact zone.
• Pay attention to daylight saving changes, since the same clock time can map differently depending on the date.
• If a local time does not seem to convert cleanly, try a nearby minute because some regions skip or repeat clock hours.
